How co-op works

Everyone in the lobby works in the same call center and toward the same daily quota. The taskbar tracks a personal balance and a team total, and the boss reviews the team as a whole. In the review room screenshot the verdict is shared: the team earned $1,600 of a $2,600 quota and everyone is fired together.

Screenshots show each player at their own desk with their own desktop. The Camera app shows co-workers at their stations, and the in-game chat parody appears to list other players as contacts.

When a run ends, the Kolkata Termination Report ranks everyone on the call floor by money earned, so co-op has a competitive edge: you share the quota, but the report shows exactly who carried the team.

Playing with friends

You can host for friends or join public lobbies. During the playtest, anyone with access can invite up to three friends into the playtest itself. That is a limit on invitations, not a statement about lobby size. See the playtest page.

Looking for a group? The official Discord is where the developers point players to find teammates.

Playing solo

Single-player is a supported mode, not an afterthought: the Early Access notes say the build "supports single-player and online co-op". You still need broadband, because the callers are generated live.

FAQ

How many players can play Scam With Your Friends?
The developers have not published a maximum lobby size. One official screenshot shows eight player name tags in the same performance review room, so lobbies hold at least eight.
Can you play Scam With Your Friends solo?
Yes. Single-player is listed on Steam and confirmed in the Early Access notes. An internet connection is still required.
Is there matchmaking with strangers?
Yes. The Steam feature list says "online co-op with your friends or public lobbies".

No local co-op is listed. Steam only lists online co-op.
Does it have crossplay?
There is nothing to cross-play with. The game is only announced for Windows on Steam.

Steam lists Family Sharing as supported, which lets family group members share a library. Whether a shared copy can be played at the same time as the owner's follows Steam's Family Sharing rules, not anything specific to this game.
