Is there a Scam With Your Friends demo?
Quick answerVerified
No. There is no public demo. The only pre-release build is the closed playtest, and its signups are currently shut.
| Public demo | None |
|---|---|
| Demo announced | No |
| Closed playtest | Running, signups closed |
| First public release | Early Access, October 2026 |
What exists instead
The developers ran signups for a closed playtest. More than 12,000 people signed up before signups were closed, and access is being handed out in waves. Each tester can invite up to three friends, which is the one route in for someone who missed the signup.
That is different from a demo. A demo is public and anyone can download it; the playtest is limited, and it leans on live AI calls that cost the developers money, which is why they capped it.
See the game before you buy
Until there is something to play, the trailer and screenshots are the best look at it.
- All 20 official images are on the screenshots page.
- How to play walks through a workday.
- Scams and apps lists everything on the in-game desktop.
Beware of fake demos
Because there is no official demo, anything offered as a "demo download" outside Steam is not from the developers. See the download page for why those files are not what they claim.
FAQ
- Does Scam With Your Friends have a demo?
- No. The Steam page does not offer a demo, and the developers have not announced one.
- Is the playtest a demo?
- Not in the usual sense. It is a closed test for a limited number of Steam accounts, with signups currently shut, and it exists to help the developers test the game before Early Access.
- Will there be a demo later?
- Nothing has been announced. With Early Access planned for October 2026 and the full release targeted for mid-December 2026, the developers' stated focus is the launch itself.
- Can I try the game for free?
- Only through the playtest, if you already have access or a friend invites you. Otherwise the first chance to play is the paid Early Access release.
